Spell Description

Swarming, loud and biting locusts fill a 20-foot-radius sphere centered on a point you can see within range. The sphere spreads around corners and the swarm produces a deafening buzzing noise that can be heard out to 300 feet. The sphere remains for the duration, its area is lightly obscured, creatures inside the swarm are deafened, and any creature that can hear the swarm has disadvantage on ability checks to hear anything else. The sphere's area is difficult terrain and creatures in the sphere have disadvantage on concentration checks due to the distraction of the constant buzzing sound of the swarming insects.

Any creature that enters the spell’s area for the first time on a turn or ends its turn there must succeed on a Constitution saving throw. A creature takes 4d10 piercing damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d10 for each slot level above 5th. If you cast this spell with a spell slot of 9th level, the sphere’s radius is doubled and you can choose to cast the spell so that it does not require concentration.
