Spell Description
Choose one creature or loose object of your choice that you are aware of within range. The target rises vertically, up to 20 feet, and remains suspended there for the duration. The spell can levitate a target that weighs up to 500 pounds. An unwilling creature that succeeds on a Constitution saving throw is unaffected. The target can move only by pushing or pulling against a fixed object or surface within reach (such as a wall or a ceiling), which allows it to move as if it were climbing.
You can change the target's altitude by up to 20 feet in either direction on your turn as an action. If you are the target, you can move up or down as part of your move instead. The spell ends on the target if the target is outside the spell’s range.
On each of your turns, you can use an action to select a new target with this spell, ending the spell on a previous target.
When the spell ends on a target, the target floats gently to the ground if it is still aloft.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, you can affect one additional creature or object for each two slot levels above 2nd. The creatures must be within 30 feet of each other when you target them. When you use an action to select a new target with this spell, the spell only ends on a previous target if your total number of affected target exceeds the number of targets you could select when you cast this spell.
