Spell Description

You send ribbons of negative energy at creatures of your choice you can see within range. Unless the target is undead, it must make a Constitution saving throw, taking 5d8 necrotic damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. A creature reduced to 0 hit points by this damage is infused with negative energy and turned into a necrotic zombie (see template below). Keeping the original creature's place in the initiative, zombies created by this spell are not under your control and, instead, attack the creature nearest to it (ignoring undead creatures). After 10 minutes, the zombie collapses. If you target an undead with this spell, the target doesn't make a saving throw and it instead regains 5d8 hit points.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, the damage and hit points restored increases by 2d8 for each slot level above 5th. If you cast this spell with a 9th level spell slot, you can control the necrotic zombies for the duration, deciding which creature they attack on their turns; commanding all creatures created by this spell as a bonus action.
