Spell Description
You shroud a creature you can see within range in the spirits of the dead. You decide what the spirits looks like (such ghostly skulls, imps, or cupids). The target must make a Charisma saving throw. On a failed saving throw, the target takes 3d8 necrotic or radiant damage (your choice when you cast the spell) and the target’s speed is halved by spirits that flit around the target. At the end of each of its turns, the target can repeat the saving throw, ending the effect on a successful saving throw.
The spirits flit around the target in a 5 feet radius. For the duration, other creatures treat this area as difficult terrain, and any creature that enters this area for the first time on a turn or ends its turn there must make a Charisma saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes 3d8 necrotic or radiant damage (as decided when you cast the spell). On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage.
When you cast this spell, you can designate any number of creatures you can see to be unaffected by it.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 3rd.
