Spell Description

You call thunder and lightning forming it into a weapon in you hand. This weapon is a javelin and attacks with this weapon deals lightning damage instead of its normal damage. When thrown, the lightning javelin ignores half-cover from creatures.

While wielding the lightning javelin, you can use an action to make a special attack with it; throw lightning:

  • Throw Lightning. This attack ignores disadvantage for being made at long range.

When you use an action to make a throw lightning attack, this spell immediately ends.

Cantrip Scaling. The thrown lightning attack can pass through other creatures before reaching its target when your reach higher levels. A creature the thrown lightning passes through must make a Dexterity saving throw or take 2d6 lightning damage. The lightning passes through one creature at 5th level, up to two creatures at 11th level, and up to three creatures at 17th level.
