Size. Small (about 3 feet tall); you can move through the space of any other creature and creatures larger than you give you cover when you share a space with them.

Gnome Ancestry Traits

  • Gnome Cunning. You have advantage on all Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma saving throws against spells.

  • Low-light vision. You can see in dim light is if it was bright light.

  • Natural Craftsman. You have proficiency in one artisan tool of your choice.

 

Gnomish Heritage features

Choose one heritage feature:

  • Deep Gnome. As a deep gnome, you gain the following benefits:

    • Darkvision. You can see in darkness within 60 feet as if it was dim light, though you can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray when seeing in darkness.

    • Sunlight Sensitivity. You have disadvantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight when you or whatever you are trying to perceive is in direct sunlight.

    • Deep Gnome Magic. You learn one illusion or divination cantrip of your choice from any spell list. You also know the hidden step spell, at 5th level you learn the nondetection spell and, when you reach 10th level, you learn the blindness/deafness spell. You can cast each spell you know through this feature once between long rests without expending a spell slot.

  • Forest Gnome. As a forest gnome, you gain the following benefits:

    • Forest Gnome Magic. You learn one illusion or transmutation cantrip of your choice from any spell list. You also know the speak with animals spell and can cast it as a ritual. At 5th level, you learn the one 1st or 2nd level spell from the primal spell list and you can cast this spell once with this feature without using a spell slot. You can cast this spell one additional time between long rests when you reach 9th and 17th level, for three times total at level 17.

  • Rock Gnome. As a rock gnome, you gain the following benefits:

    • Rock Gnome Magic. You learn one abjuration or illusion cantrip of your choice from any spell list. You also know the identify and comprehend languages spells and you can cast each spell once between long rests without expending a spell slot.

    • Cunning Illusionist. Once between long rests when you succeed on a saving throw against an illusion spell, you learn that spell and can cast it once without expending a spell slot (if the spell allows multiple saving throws, you only get this benefit if you succeed on the initial saving throw). You know the spell until you cast it with this feature or use this feature again to learn another illusion spell.
