Ranger Archetypes

Stalker

You are adept at silently hunting your prey mimicking stalking predators.

Ambusher

As a stalker, when you take the attack action on your first turn in combat, you can make an additional attack when you take the attack action.

When you roll initiative, you can also move up to half your speed and immediately take the hide action if you end that movement concealed. You can use this ability once between short or long rests.

Further, you have advantage on stealth checks in natural environments.

Stalker Tactics

Beginning at 10th level, you know how to use concealment to your advantage. You gain the stalker tactics from the list of rogue tactics available to the rogue:

In combat you weave in and out between cover, granting you the following abilities:

  • Seek Cover. Whenever you reduce an enemy to 0 hit points in combat, you can move up to your speed and take the hide action if you end that movement concealed.

  • Subtle Strike. When you hit an enemy with a weapon and you were hidden when you made the attack, you can make a Dexterity (stealth) check against your enemies’ passive perception after the attack to remain hidden.
