Ranger Archetypes
Stalker
You are adept at silently hunting your prey mimicking stalking predators.
Ambusher
As a stalker, when you take the attack action on your first turn in combat, you can make an additional attack when you take the attack action.
When you roll initiative, you can also move up to half your speed and immediately take the hide action if you end that movement concealed. You can use this ability once between short or long rests.
Further, you have advantage on stealth checks in natural environments.
Stalker Tactics
Beginning at 10th level, you know how to use concealment to your advantage. You gain the stalker tactics from the list of rogue tactics available to the rogue:
In combat you weave in and out between cover, granting you the following abilities:
Subtle Cover. When you are hidden, you can use a bonus action to remain hidden until the end of your turn even if you are not obscured. If you end your turn hidden and obscured from other creatures, you can remain hidden.
Deadly Surprise. On the first round of combat, you can add your proficiency bonus to damage rolls against any creature that has not yet had a turn.
Stalker’s Gambit. When you take the hide action and succeed by 10 or more against a creature’s passive perception, you do not automatically loose the hide action when you attempt to make an attack on the same turn.
