Sorcerer: Sorcerous Origin: Ancient Progeny |
|
The Ancient Progeny sorcerer is deeply connected to the primal forces
of nature, their magic flowing from ancient spirits, fey ancestry, or the
essence of the wild itself. |

Ancient Progeny Features |
|
Primal Origin You learn sorcerer
spells from the primal spell list, and you know the druidcraft cantrip. Potent Primal Origin At 6th level, you
choose one of the following features: •
Mystic Medium. You
gain proficiency with one weapon, skill, or tool of your choice. You can
change this proficiency by spending 1 minute in contemplation. You can also
cast a sorcerer spell you know as a ritual if that spell has the ritual tag. •
Primal Surge. You
can command primordial energies. You have a pool of d6s that represent this
energy. The number of dice in the pool equals half your sorcerer level
(rounded up). Whenever you cast a spell, you can deal additional damage to
targets of the spell, spending dice from the pool. You can spend a number of
dice up to the level of the spell you cast. Roll the dice you spent, add them
together, and add the total to one damage roll of the spell. This extra
damage is acid, cold, fire, lightning or thunder (your choice when you use
this ability). Your pool regains all expended dice when you finish
a long rest. •
Whisperer. Once
between short or long rests when you cast a spell that only targets humanoids
(such as charm person), you change the spell to also be able to
target beasts, elementals, fey, giants, monstrosities, and plant creatures. You
also gain the ability to comprehend and verbally communicate with any
creature that does not have a language (such as beasts and some
monstrosities). The knowledge and awareness of such creatures is limited by
their intelligence, but at minimum, they can give you information about nearby
locations and creatures, including whatever they can perceive or have
perceived within the past day. You might be able to persuade a such creatures
to perform a small favour for you, at the DM’s discretion. |
