Ranger: Hunter Archetype: Monster Hunter

You specialise in bringing down the largest and most dangerous of foes.

Monster Slayer Features

Hunter’s Toughness

As a monster hunter, your hit points maximum increases by an amount equal to your ranger level.

Big Game Hunter

You specialise in wearing down large foes, granting you the following benefits:

You treat all huge and gargantuan creatures as your favoured enemies.

When you hit one of your favoured enemies with a melee or ranged attack, you can replace one of the attack’s damage dice with a d8 (e.g. the weapon’s damage dice, the bonus damage from the brutal weapon property, or the damage bonus from spells such as hunter’s mark). You only get this benefit against favoured enemies that are large or larger.

Titan Slayer

At 10th level, your tenacity can wear down the most potent foes:

When you score a critical hit against a favoured enemy, you can roll 2d8 and add the result to the damage roll.

When you hit one of your favoured enemies with a melee or ranged attack, the creature takes an extra 1d8 damage if it is bloodied.
