Monastic Warrior Features |
|
Spiritual Focus Beginning when
you become a monastic warrior at 3rd level, you gain 5 focus points. You can expend
these focus points to fuel some of your ‘monastic warrior’ abilities, and you
regain all focus points when you finish a short or long rest. When you first
gain this ability, you can expend a focus point to gain one of the following
effects: •
Patient Defence. When
you take the disengage action, you can expend a focus point to also gain the
benefit of the dodge action until the beginning of your next turn. •
Redirect Attack. When you
successfully reduce a damage from a melee attack roll to 0 hit points with
your ‘deflect attack’ feature, you can expend a focus point to redirect the
attack at another creature within reach of the attacking creature. The
attacking creature must immediately re-rolls the
attack against another creature of your choice. •
Redirect Missile. When you
successfully reduce a damage roll from a ranged attack damage roll to 0 hit
points with your ‘deflect attack’ feature, you can expend a focus point to
throw the projectile at any creature within 30 feet of you. For this attack,
you treat the projectile as a simple ranged thrown weapon that you are
proficient with. On a hit, the projectile’s damage dice is a number of d6
damage equal to your sneak attack value. •
Spirit Step. When you take
the dash action, you can expend a focus point to gain the following
additional benefits: your speed increases by 10 feet until the end of your
turn, your jump distance is doubled for the turn, you do not need to move at
least 10 feet to gain the full benefit of long or high jumps, and you gain
the ability to move along vertical surfaces and across liquids on your turn
without falling during the movement. Pressure Points As
a monastic warrior, you also know how to strike in a way that blocks the
spiritual energy that runs through a target’s body. When you hit a creature
with an unarmed strike, you can have the attack deal force damage instead of
its normal damage. Sneak Attack: Pressure Point Strike As a bonus action, you can expend a focus point to make a special unarmed
strike, a pressure point strike: •
Pressure Point Strike. On
a hit, you replace this attack’s damage dice with a number of d4 equal to
your sneak attack value. When you hit a creature with a ‘pressure point strike’, the target
must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or suffer one of the following
effects: •
Crippling Strike.
The target falls prone and the target is unable to stand up. The
target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending
the effect on a successful saving throw and immediately standing up. •
Stunning Strike. The
target is stunned until the end of your next turn. •
Sickening Strike.
The target is diseased and poisoned. The target can repeat the
saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending both conditions on a
success. Stillness of Mind Beginning at
10th level, your spiritual focus deepens. Whenever you roll initiative, you
gain a number of temporary focus points equal to your Wisdom modifier. These
temporary focus points disappear at the end of combat. You also gain
additional ways to expend your focus points: •
Wholeness of Body. As a bonus
action, you can expend 2 focus points to recover a number of hit points equal
to 2d10 + your rogue level. •
Diamond Soul. When you fail a
saving throw, you can expend 2 focus points to reroll that saving throw. You
must use the new roll. Perfect Self Beginning at
18th level, you have developed your body and mind to new heights, granting
you the following benefits: •
The number of focus points you gain after a short
or long rest through your ‘spiritual focus’ feature increases to 10 instead. •
Once between long rests, you can use an action to
cast the heal spell on yourself. When you do so, you also immediately
recover focus points as if you had taken a short rest. |
