Resonance

Incantation (divine), Evocation

Base Incantation

Range: 15 feet (sight)

Duration: 1 round

Casting Time: 1 action

Components: V,S

Formula: You disturb energies around a creature within range until the end of your next turn.

Target(s): You target one creature. Target creatures must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or suffer the spell’s effect.

Effect: The target takes 1d8 thunder damage per power level. In addition, if the target moves 5 feet or more on a subsequent turn before the end of the spell, it takes another 1d8 thunder damage per power level and the spell then immediately ends for that target.

Spellweaving Options

When you expend a spell slot as a bonus action to weave a spell from the incantation, the spell’s power level becomes equal to the level of the expended spell slot plus your spellpower. In addition, you can add spellweaving option with a total cost equal to the total power level of the spell:

 

Resonating Bolt (Costs 1)

This spellweaving option changes the spell in the following way:

          Replaces Target(s): The spell targets one creature: Make a spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target suffers the effect of the spell.

 

Resounding Resonance (Costs 2)

This spellweaving option changes the spell in the following way:

          Adds to Formula: While the spell is still active, you can use an action to channel the resonating energies that resonate around creatures affected by this spell. When you do so, any target affected by the spell automatically suffers the spell’s effect and then the spell ends.

 

Violent Resonance (Costs 3)

This spellweaving option changes the spell in the following way:

          Adds to Effect: A target that takes thunder damage from this spell is also immediately pushed up to 10 feet in a direction.

 

Resonating Reach (Costs 4)

This spellweaving option changes the spell in the following way:

          Replaces Range: The spell’s range instead becomes 30 feet (line). Each additional time you add this option, the spell’s range increases by another 30 feet.

          Replaces Target(s): The spell instead target’s up to 3 creatures in a cone: A target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or suffer the spell’s effect. On a successful saving throw, a target still takes half damage from the spell’s effect but does not suffer any other part of the effect. Each additional time you add this option, the maximum number of targets increase by 3.

 

Personal Resonance (Costs 6)

This spellweaving option changes the spell in the following way:

          Replaces Range: The spell’s range instead becomes 5 feet (sight).

          Replaces Duration: The spell instead lasts for 1 minute (concentration).

          Replaces Formula: You instead create a field of resonating energy around yourself for the duration.

          Replaces Target(s): The spell instead creates a resonating field that effects all creatures within 5 feet of you. Any creature that enters the spell’s area for the first time on a turn or ends its turn there must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or suffer the spell’s effect.
