Bladesinger Features

Training in Blade and Song

When you become a bladesinger, you gain:

          Light armour training

Proficiency with one-handed melee weapon with the parry property of your choice

          Proficiency in performance.

Armoured Casting

You ignore spell failure from armour when you cast wizard spells wearing light armour.

Blade Song

As a bladesinger, you can invoke the ancient elven magic called the blade song as a bonus action, provided that you aren’t wearing medium or heavy armour or using a shield.

The blade song lasts for one minute or until you become incapacitated. The blade song also ends if you don medium or heavy armour, or if you wield a shield. While you use your blade song, you cannot use weapons two-handed or fight with two weapons. The effect of the blade song is also suppressed if you are restrained or your speed is 0.

You can dismiss the blade song at any time (no action required).

While your blade song is active, you gain the following benefits:

When you use the parry weapon property, it provides a bonus to your armour class equal to your Intelligence modifier instead.

Your walking speed increases by 10 feet.

You have advantage on Dexterity (Acrobatics) checks.

Once you have used your blade song, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest, unless you spend a spell slot to use it again.

Song of Celerity

Beginning from 6th level, you also gain the following benefits while your blade song is active:

When you activate your blade song, you can immediately cast a cantrip as part of that bonus action. This cantrip must have a casting time of one action.

If you used a spell slot to activate your blade song, the blade song also receives a charge per level of that spell slot.

For the duration of your spell song, you can expend a spell song charge when you take the attack action to invoke the power of the blade song. Until the end of your turn, you add your Intelligence modifier to all weapon damage rolls, and you can make a melee attack with a parry weapon you are wielding as a bonus action on your turn.

When you take the attack action, attacks against you have disadvantage until the beginning of your next turn.

Song of Magic

Starting at 14th level, you blade song improves and retains more of your magical energy.

Whenever you cast a spell while your blade song is active, the blade song also gains a number of charges equal to the level of the spell up to a maximum number of charges equal to your Intelligence modifier. You also gain an additional way to the spend blade song’s charges:

Once per turn, you can expend a blade song charge when you hit a creature with a parry weapon to deal an additional 2d10 force damage.
