Bard: Peerless Skills |
|
At 5th level, you
can choose one of the following skills that you are proficient with:
Acrobatics, Animal Handling, Deception, Insight, Intimidation, Investigation,
Performance, Persuasion, Sleight of Hand, and Stealth. Once between long
rests you can forgo rolling the chosen skill and automatically succeed on the
roll instead (as described for each peerless skill). You also gain an
additional magical ability depending on the skill you have chosen. You can change your
chosen skill for another skill you are proficient in from the list whenever
you gain a level in this class. |

Deception: Rumour Monger Once between long
rests, you can automatically succeed on an ability check using Deception
instead of rolling. When you spend at
least 1 minute in a crowd of people, you can magically spread a rumour in the
crowd. Choose a number of humanoids part of the crowd, up to a number equal
to your Charisma modifier (minimum of one). Each target must succeed on a
Wisdom saving throw. On a failed saving throw, a target is magically
convinced of the truth value of a rumour you planted in the crowd. This ability
doesn’t necessarily affect how a creature behaves, particularly if the rumour
contradicts the creature’s natural inclinations, alignment, or beliefs. This
could be used to create opportunities for further social interaction but
usually will not cause the affected humanoid to change their behaviour (e.g.
this won’t suddenly cause the humanoid to attempt a murder). The magic fades
after a number of days equal to you Charisma modifier. |
