At 5th level, you can choose one of the following skills that you are proficient with: Acrobatics, Animal Handling, Deception, Insight, Intimidation, Investigation, Performance, Persuasion, Sleight of Hand, and Stealth.

Once between long rests you can forgo rolling the chosen skill and automatically succeed on the roll instead (as described for each peerless skill). You also gain an additional magical ability depending on the skill you have chosen.

You can change your chosen skill for another skill you are proficient in from the list whenever you gain a level in this class.

Peerless Skill Options:

Insight: Inquisitive

Once between long rests, you can automatically succeed on an ability check using Insight instead of rolling.

When you spend at least 1 minute interacting with a humanoid, you magically learn of their surface motivations.

While this does not allow you to read the target’s thoughts, this ability can teach you whether the target is hiding something, give you insight into the target’s emotional state, or tell you whether something looms large in its mind (such as what is worries over, loves, or hates).
