Druid: Great Beast Spirit: Patient Bear

The Patient Bear spirit look after strong animals that use their claws as tools and forage such as badgers, sloths, and anteaters.

Patient Bear Wild Trait Options

Bulky. This creature has proficiency in Strength and Constitution saving throws.

Keen senses (smell). This creature has advantage on Wisdom (perception) checks that rely on smell.

Large. (counts as 2 wild traits). This creature’s size is large and as a result this creature gains +2 bonus to its armour class and a 1d4 damage bonus to its melee damage rolls. The large trait replaces the template’s physical ability scores with: Strength 17 (+3), Dex 12 (+1), Con 16 (+3).

Exceptional Endurance. This creature has advantage on saving throws to avoid becoming diseased, fatigued or exhausted.

Motionless. This creature has advantage on Dexterity (stealth) checks to hide itself. In addition, other creatures have disadvantage on Wisdom (perception) skill checks to locate this creature when it is hiding.

Multiattack: Brutal Bite (counts as 2 wild traits). This creature can use a bonus action to make a special attack, brutal bite:

          Brutal Bite. Melee attack, reach 5 ft., 1d6 piercing damage. If the attack is made with advantage, this attack deals an addition 1d6 points of damage.

Natural Protection. This creature’s armour class becomes 16 instead of the template’s normal armour class and it does not add Dexterity to its armour class.

Special Attack: Clutching Claws. When this creature takes an attack action, it can replace one of its attacks with a special attack, clutching claws:

          Clutching Claws. Melee attack, reach 5 ft., 1d4 bludgeoning damage. On a hit, the target is grappled and restrained until the grapple ends. A creature that is two sizes larger than this creature is immune to this grapple.

Special Attack: Crushing Maul. When this creature takes an attack action, it can replace one of its attacks with a special attack, a crushing maul:

          Crushing Maul. Melee attack, reach 5 ft., 1d12 slashing damage. On a hit, the target must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be knocked prone if it is the same size or smaller; on a critical hit, the target’s speed is also reduced to 0 until the end of the target’s next turn.

Siege Beast. When this creature makes a melee attack against objects and structures, this creature rolls damage as if it had scored a critical hit against the structure or object.

Skilled Forager. You gain proficiency in Athletics and Survival. If this creature is already proficient with both of these skills, it instead gains expertise in one of these skills.

Tunneller. This creature has a burrow speed of 10 feet. Also, when this creature burrows, it can leave a tunnel in its wake where a creature of its size can squeeze through and creatures smaller than it can move through unhindered. This creature moves at half speed when it does so.

Powerful Grappler. This creature has advantage on saving throws to avoid or end the grappled and restrained conditions.

Actions

Tearing Claws. Melee Attack, reach 5 ft., 2d4 slashing damage. On a critical hit, the target takes an additional 2d4 slashing damage.
